The Frazier History Museum invites educators to attend a kick-off celebration of the centennial of the 19th Amendment. In partnership with Jefferson County Public Schools, the Museum will introduce attendees to ready-made curriculum “What is a vote worth?” including the history of women’s suffrage and voting rights for all in the U.S.  Attendees will:

  • Receive instructional training for utilizing the website What is a Vote Worth? directly from its creators, including Ryan New, JCPS Social Studies Instructional Lead.
  • Learn inquiry based practices for utilizing the What is a Vote Worth resource through a series of breakout sessions, with an emphasis on written and verbal argumentation and taking informed action.
  • Hear an overview of the full Louisville suffrage history public events supported by over 100 local organizations and learn about the Frazier Museum’s major exhibition opening in March, 2020 that will examine Kentucky’s unique role in the fight for women’s suffrage.
